Burano is great for exploring and enjoying a walking tour, taking in all of the visual and picturesque houses on the island. I think 2 to 4 hours is a perfect time duration to enjoy everything and its really nice to escape from the crazy busy tourist areas of Venice. Have a spot of lunch and enjoy the many restaurants of Burano.
I can imagine the sunset here would be amazing! I went mid morning and the lighting was super bright!
Burano has a population of around 2500.
Check out the Leaning tower or 'Campanile' (bell tower) of San Martino,

What is Burano famous for?
It's brightly coloured houses and also lace.
Burano's small and brightly coloured homes follow a specific system which has been in place since its golden age of development. If someone would like to re paint a home they have to apply for strict planning permission and they have to paint it a colour which has been designated to that property building.
