By Mr Plane Guy Travel Blogger, Flight and Travel Expert
Traveling with EasyJet? Whether you're heading out on a flight or an EasyJet Holiday, Love holidays escape or catching a business flight, understanding EasyJet’s baggage policy is essential for avoiding fees and ensuring a seamless trip. From their hand luggage rules to their innovative app for bag measurements, I’ve got all the details you need to make your next EasyJet flight hassle-free.
EasyJet Cabin Bag Allowances
EasyJet’s hand luggage policy is straightforward but strictly enforced here's what you need to know:
Free Small Bag
Size: 45 x 36 x 20 cm (including handles and wheels).
Weight: No official weight limit, but it must fit under the seat in front of you.
Examples: Small backpack, handbag, or laptop bag.
Cost: Free with any ticket.
A common question is,
Can I take a handbag as well as hand luggage on an EasyJet flight?
The answer is no unless you’ve paid for an upgrade like Speedy Boarding or booked an upfront seat. Without an upgrade, EasyJet’s policy allows only one small bag per passenger.
Here are a few bag suggestions specifically for EasyJets baggage rules.
Cabin Max METZ 20L Underseat Bag (40 x 20 x 25 cm)
Now this bag actually fits Ryanair and Wizz Air that have stricter and smaller free personal baggage allowance you can get the bigger option 30L 45 x 36 x 20 cm to fly with EasyJet.
You can find more information about this bag Right Here
The Cabin Max METZ 20L is my go-to under seat bag for EasyJet flights. It’s perfectly sized for EasyJets free personal item allowance and comes packed with features:

This bag is also compatible with most major airlines, making it a versatile travel companion beyond Ryanair.
It comes in so many different colour options
The Metz 20L is also compliant with a vast amount of other carriers.
(The other carriers) My Metz on the back of Dave the camel in Morocco,
Yes 3 nights in Morocco with the Metz no problem!
With EasyJet you can actually use the Cabin Max Metz 30L this fits EasyJet's free personal bag size. Exactly like the 20L Metz but bigger! Just bare in mind if you buy this and you then jet off with other airlines it may not fit their stricter baggage rules.
You can keep everything super organised, I love that it is really padded well so it's very comfortable on your back all day long.
Again this comes in so many different colours.

Paid Cabin Baggage Option
Size: 56 x 45 x 25 cm (including handles and wheels).
Weight: No set limit, but you must lift it into the overhead locker unaided.
Cost: Available with Speedy Boarding or as an add-on when booking.
I find this option for paying for a paid carry on bag on easyJet is a great feature for me for trips up to a week away. Normally it's less than £30 with easyJet and is very cost effective, usually alot cheaper than buying hold luggage fee's. (Prices vary depending on which route and EasyJet flight.) Plus i can keep the bag with me and I don't have to stress at the luggage carousel! I take my 40L Cabin Max Anode and can fit plenty of items for a week away.
I've been using the Cabin Max Anode for over a year and it's the perfect fit for EasyJets Speedy boarding or paid carry on luggage item.
It is so light weight, it has 360 spinning wheels so I can push or pull it around the airport and place my small undereat bag on top of it. It has a well made lock to keep all my items secure. For the price as well it is excellent quality!
For those who need more space, the Cabin Max Anode 40L is a fantastic option.
Spacious and Lightweight: Perfect for trips up to 7 days, with enough room for clothing, toiletries, and extras.
Durable and Stylish: Available in various colours, so you can travel in style.
It's also a perfect fit for Ryanair Priority: No worries about your bag arriving separately, as you can keep it with you.
It comes in so many colours!!
Top Tip:
Use EasyJet’s bag-measuring feature on their app. This tool lets you check if your bag meets size limits before you get to the airport, saving you stress at the gate.
I made a tik tok explaining the feature, take a look and don't forget to follow!

If your trip requires more space, EasyJet offers several hold luggage options:
15 kg Small Suitcase: Perfect for short holidays.
23 kg Standard Suitcase: Great for longer trips or heavier packing.
Cost: Adding hold luggage during booking is cheaper than at the airport, with fees ranging from £6.99 to £42.99 depending on weight and destination.
Booking a package through EasyJet Holidays or loveholidays? These often include hold luggage, but it’s always wise to double-check the EasyJet Holidays baggage policy or loveholidays baggage policy before heading to the airport.

Baggage costs vary based on when and where you add luggage to your booking. It’s typically cheaper to add baggage online during booking or via the EasyJet app than at the airport.
Flight Delay & Cancellations Guide
EasyJet travellers should also prepare for potential disruptions. In the event of a delay or cancellation, be sure to check EasyJet’s flight delay and cancellations blog for guidance on rebooking, refunds, and compensation.

Packing Tips for EasyJet Flights
1. Invest in the Right Bag: A lightweight, compact bag like the Cabin Max Metz ensures you meet EasyJet’s size requirements.
2. Wear Bulky Items: Save space by wearing your heavier clothes, like jackets or boots, during boarding.
3. Compression Cubes: These maximise space while keeping your belongings organised.
4. Essentials in Hand Luggage: Always pack essentials (toiletries, chargers, and documents) in your cabin bag, especially in case of delays or cancellations.
Packing cubes to keep everything organised. If you have items spilling out of your luggage you are more likey to be asked to place your luggage in the sizer for checking by the gate staff!

EasyJet Luggage allowance for EasyJet Holidays
Back in August 2024 EasyJet holidays changed their policy effecting those booking city break holidays, they now don't include hold luggage allowance.
EasyJet holidays baggage policy:
Free Small Bag: Each person can bring a small under-seat bag (max 45 x 36 x 20 cm, no weight limit) free of charge. It must fit under the seat and be self-carried. This does not apply to lap infants unless they also bring a baby changing bag of the same size.
the 30L Metz back pack or Anode 30L under seat trolley case are both ideal for this.
Hold Luggage: Beach holidays include a 23kg hold bag per person. Weight can be shared across a group but no single item can exceed 32kg, and total size must stay under 275cm (length + width + height).
Additional Bags: Extra luggage can be added when booking for up to 15% less than later additions.
Overhead Cabin Bags: To bring a larger cabin bag (max 56 x 45 x 25 cm, 15kg), you must book and pay. This includes Speedy Boarding. For this option the 40L Anode is the perfect size and fit.
