Is the Aspire Lounge in Manchester Airport Terminal 1 Worth the Visit? A Detailed Review
If you find yourself at Manchester Airport Terminal 1 and are considering a stop at the Aspire Lounge, let me share my experience with you. After a recent visit my review might help you decide if it’s worth your time and money.
Whats included
You get access to the lounge for 3 hours before departure,
Hot and cold dishes
A range of drinks
Location and First Impressions
The Aspire Lounge is located in Terminal 1, right after you pass through security. Once you get past the battleaxe on reception, you enter, you’re greeted with an open space providing a calm escape from the hustle and bustle of the airport. The atmosphere is relatively quiet, making it a good place to unwind before a flight.
Amenities and Features
The lounge features work booths and are designed for business travelers, equipped with comfortable seating and enough privacy to get some work done. If you need to catch up on emails or finish a report, this could be your office away from home. The free Wi-Fi is a bonus, enabling you to stay connected while you’re away from the grind.
Families are also catered for, thanks to the family booths equipped with their own TVs. This is a smart touch for parents traveling with kids; you can keep the little ones entertained with their favorite shows, giving you a moment of peace. Just a quick tip: if you want the remote, you’ll need to ask a staff member.

Food and Drink Experience
Now, let’s dive into what I found to be the biggest letdown—the food. I found it all to be rather uninspiring. There wasn’t much variety, and the options felt more like snacks than a proper meal. I was hoping for something that would excite my taste buds, but nothing really stood out.
What’s more, I noticed lots of marketing pushing premium options like cocktails and champagne and upgraded food. While I understand that lounges often offer additional items for a fee, the upselling felt a bit off, especially when you’re already paying for lounge access.
Comfort and Ambiance
You can enjoy some nice views of the runway, watching the hustle of planes arriving and departing. It’s a pleasant environment, designed to help you unwind away from the crowded terminal. However, the comfort factor can only go so far when the food is lacking.
Access: Gaining entry is a breeze I used my Lounge Key access, an effortless way to start your journey.
Did I tell you that I get reduced airport lounges with my bank account? For a fee, my account comes with access to Lounge Key, you download the app and then scan it to get in and a charge is taken from your account! It was super easy, no waiting around here.
