Who Are Norse Atlantic Airways?
Founded in 2021, Norse Atlantic Airways is a low-cost, long-haul airline operating Boeing 787 Dreamliners. These aircraft were previously used by Norwegian Airlines before they shut down long-haul operations. Norse Atlantic Airways took over several of these planes and launched operations in 2022, offering affordable flights between Europe and North America.
Norse Atlantic Airways Fare Types
For those looking for extra comfort, Norse Atlantic Airways has three different Premium fare options:
Premium Light: 1 personal item, 1 carry-on (15kg), 2 meal services, priority check-in & boarding.
Premium Classic: Same as Premium Light but with 1 checked bag (23kg).
Premium Flextra: Includes seat selection, 2 checked bags (23kg each), and flexible ticket changes.

My Norse Atlantic Airways Premium Flight Review
Booking & Check-in
I booked a cheap flight from London to Oslo to try out Norse Atlantic Airways. My expectations were low, but I was curious to see what they had to offer.
Check-in was a bit chaotic. Despite multiple emails prompting online check-in, it wasn’t actually available. The queue at London Gatwick South Terminal looked intimidating but moved quickly only about a 10-minute wait. The check-in staff were thorough, weighing and measuring every bag.
Fast Track Security at London Gatwick
Gatwick Airport you have the option to pay extra to go through a different security lane, the current charge is £6, this might be worth it if flying out of Gatwick at peak times (school holidays, weekend early morning.) Don't bother any other times!

At Oslo Airport, check-in was much smoother. Premium passengers had a dedicated area, and there was no queue at all.
Norse Atlantic Premium Cabin Experience
Seats & Comfort: Norse Premium offers a 43-inch seat pitch in a 2-3-2 configuration. I was seated in 6G, and while the cabin was nearly empty (only five passengers), the seat itself was comfortable with decent recline. However, don’t expect a fully flat seat, this isn’t business class.
TOP TIP
The middle seats in row 1 & 2 have no centre bag space compartments, (the pilots crew rest bunks are located in the ceiling here!)
Inflight Entertainment: Each seat has its own screen with 200+ hours of movies and TV shows. The selection was surprisingly good, featuring a mix of classics and new releases. However, I noticed there was no moving map, just a basic flight information screen.
Food & Drinks: Premium passengers receive two complimentary meals, but don’t expect gourmet dining. On my short Oslo to London flight, I was only offered an orange juice in a plastic cup.
Cabin Crew: Professional and well-dressed in their signature blue uniforms. Service was friendly, but the experience wasn’t significantly different from Economy.
Should You Upgrade to Norse Premium?
Norse’s Bid for Upgrade option allows passengers to bid for extra legroom or an upgrade to Norse Premium. If you can get an upgrade at a good price, it might be worth it.
However, based on my experience, buying an extra-legroom seat in Economy might offer similar comfort for a fraction of the price.

Final Verdict
Norse Premium offers extra space, better legroom, priority boarding, and free meals, but it’s not a true premium product. It’s great for a budget-friendly way to fly in comfort, but if you’re looking for luxury, you might be disappointed.
If you’re flying long-haul, consider the Bid for Upgrade option, but otherwise, booking an extra-legroom seat in Economy could be a better deal.
