So, I recently spent 24 hours in Dublin, and let me tell you it was a whirlwind of history, culture, and, of course, a little bit of Irish craic! Whether you're visiting for a layover, a short city break, or just want to know the best things to do in Dublin, I’ve got you covered.
I managed to squeeze in iconic landmarks, hidden gems, incredible food, and a unique airport lounge experience before heading home. So, here’s my ultimate 24-hour Dublin itinerary, packed with top tips to make the most of your time in this incredible city!

How to Get from Dublin Airport to the City Centre
Before we jump into the itinerary, let’s talk about the most efficient ways to get from Dublin Airport to the city centre. The airport is just 10km north of the city, and there are several transport options:
Aircoach (Route 700) – The most popular choice, running 24/7 and costing around €8 one way.
Dublin Express (Routes 782 & 784) – A newer option that’s fast and reliable.
Dublin Bus (Routes 16 & 41) – The cheapest option at around €3.30, but it takes longer.
Taxi or Uber – Costs between €25-€35, ideal if you have luggage or a group.
Once you arrive, it’s time to explore Dublin in a day!
