Wizz Air to pull out of Cardiff
Wizz Air has announced the closure of its bases at Cardiff, along with Bacau (Romania), and Bari (Italy),
citing reasons of a challenging macro-economic environment.
Cardiff closes after the airline also closed its Doncaster/Sheffield base on June 10, 2022, after failing to reach new commercial terms with the airport operator.
British Airways unveils a new cabin crew uniform
British Airways has revealed new designs of uniforms for its airline teams including jumpsuits for female cabin crew!
The uniforms have all been designed by British Saville Row designer Ozwald Boateng OBE.

Correndon Airlines is offering up to 50% of savings on Summer 2023 flights!
Corendon Airlines is offering savings of up to 50% on bookings made before January 29, 2023 for departures between April 1 and October 31, 2023.
For Summer 2023, Corendon Airlines will operate flights to Antalya and Dalaman from Gatwick, Manchester, Birmingham, Newcastle, Glasgow and new for 2023, Bristol airport.
Play Airlines Launch flights from Iceland to Toronto
PLAY the Icelandic low cost airline have announced the launch of daily flights to Toronto-Hamilton Airport in Canada, with the first flight scheduled for June 22. This new route will offer connections to 15 destinations in Europe, making it PLAY’s fifth destination in North America.
Play airlines offer connections from both Liverpool and London Stansted.

Airport security rules on liquids and laptops are to be relaxed
The government has set a deadline of June 2024 for major UK airports to install new security technology, which will make obsolete the rule to bring no more than 100ml of liquid in a container and remove large electronics from hand luggage.
U.S. fines Virgin Atlantic $1.05 million for flying over Iraq
Virgin Atlantic Airways have been fined $1.05 Million dollars (or £870,000) for flying over Iraq airspace which is banned for US carriers. Although Virgin Atlantic isnt a US airline it was operating a code share flight with Delta who owns a 49% stake of the airline. The airline stated that it was "accidental."
Are travel covid restrictions coming back?
With the NHS in the UK on its knees due to the spread of covid, winter flu bugs and colds, plus the huge backlog of patients receiving treatments the NHS is struggling to cope here in the UK. This month flights arriving from China now require negative Covid test results, now that travel restrictions have allowed flights to finally take off from China.
The price of British Passports is going up!
UK passport application fees are due to rise from 2 February 2023. The first price increase in 5 years!
